About

True style is a game of proportions, not sizes. Most fashion advice stops at "Apple" or "Pear", but ignoring your vertical proportions (torso-to-leg ratio) leads to outfits that cut you in the wrong places. This analyzer calculates your Waist-to-Hip Ratio (WHR) and your vertical balance to generate a comprehensive Style Card.

If you have a Long Torso with shorter legs, high-waisted trousers are non-negotiable to visually shift your waistline up. Conversely, a Short Torso requires dropped waistlines or untucked tops to elongate the midsection. This tool filters a database of 100+ clothing items to find the 5 specific cuts that mathematically balance your unique architecture.

Formulas

We utilize the Waist-to-Hip Ratio (WHR) and Waist-to-Chest Ratio (WCR).

WHR = WaistHip

Vertical balance is determined by the Inseam-to-Height ratio. A standard ratio is approx 0.45. Values below 0.44 indicate shorter legs relative to torso.

Frequently Asked Questions

The "High Hip" is the area where your hip bones are (usually 3-4 inches below the waist). The "Low Hip" is the widest part of your bottom/hips. This calculator asks for the Low Hip measurement, as this is the critical dimension for determining your silhouette's widest point.
Two women can both be "Hourglass" shapes, but if one has short legs and the other has a long torso, they need completely different jeans. Short legs require high-waisted cuts to create length; long torsos need mid-rise to avoid looking disproportionately short in the upper body.
Take a pair of pants that fit you perfectly in length. Lay them flat and measure from the crotch seam down the inner leg to the bottom hem. Do not measure on your body while bending over, as this distorts the number.
