About

This Random Word Generator is designed to break creative blocks by providing immediate access to a curated database of high-frequency English vocabulary. Whether you are brainstorming brand names, setting up a game of Charades, or needing dummy data for development, this tool delivers results instantly.

We have optimized the interface to be fully responsive. Unlike older tools that break on mobile screens, this generator adapts its control panel to fit any device, from smartphones to wide desktop monitors, ensuring you can generate words on the go without zooming or horizontal scrolling.

Formulas

The generator selects items from a pre-loaded JSON array using a uniform distribution algorithm.

  • Step 1: Input Normalization. User constraints (Length L, Type T) are validated to ensure they fall within the bounds of the database.
  • Step 2: Filtering. A temporary array A' is created where x A' if x matches T and Lmin len(x) Lmax.
  • Step 3: Render. If A' is not empty, N items are randomly plucked. The UI uses Flexbox and Grid to reflow these items based on the viewport width wviewport.
