Men's BMI Calculator with Waist Analysis
Calculates BMI for men and assesses cardiovascular risk using waist circumference. Highlights risks of central obesity common in males.
About
Men tend to accumulate visceral fat around the abdomen, known as an "Apple" shape. This central obesity is metabolically active and significantly more dangerous than subcutaneous fat, linking directly to hypertension, Type 2 diabetes, and heart disease. A standard BMI calculation alone often misses this risk profile in men who may have a "normal" weight but a high waist-to-height ratio.
This tool combines standard Body Mass Index logic with a Waist Circumference Screening. If your BMI is elevated, the tool checks your waist size. A waist over 40 inches (102 cm) drastically upgrades your health risk category, regardless of what the simple BMI number says.
Formulas
Risk assessment relies on the interaction between BMI and Waist Circumference (WC).
The logic evaluates the boolean condition of Central Obesity:
Note: 102 cm is approx 40 inches.
