About

Mental arithmetic is not merely a school skill; it is a cognitive exercise that strengthens working memory and neuroplasticity. This Math Speed Drill uses an adaptive algorithm to keep you in the Flow State - the optimal zone where difficulty matches skill level. Unlike static flashcards, this tool adjusts real-time based on your reaction velocity.

We calculate a fictitious Brain Age based on two variables: t (average time per correct answer) and e (error rate). The theoretical minimum is 20 years old. As reaction time decays or errors increase, the calculated age rises, simulating cognitive load.

Frequently Asked Questions

It is a heuristic metric. We start with a base age of 20. Every second it takes you to answer adds 1.5 "years", and every wrong answer adds 2 "years". To achieve a score of 20, you must average under 1 second per question with 100% accuracy.
The tool uses an "Adaptive Flow" system. If you answer three questions consecutively in under 2 seconds, the number range expands (e.g., from 1-10 to 1-20). If you make a mistake or answer slowly, the range contracts to rebuild your confidence.
Yes. The algorithm specifically generates "integer-friendly" division problems. You will never encounter 10 / 3 = 3.33. You will only see 12 / 4 = 3.
In Standard mode, a wrong answer just breaks your streak and deducts time. In Sudden Death, a single incorrect input ends the game immediately, regardless of remaining time.
