Fair loot distribution is the cornerstone of a healthy guild or adventuring party. Whether you are dividing the hoard of an Ancient Red Dragon in D&D or splitting the auction house proceeds from a Mythic raid in WoW, precision is mandatory. Disputes over ±1 gold coin can shatter alliances.
This tool addresses the complex reality of loot economics: Liquidity vs. Assets. When a player claims a physical item (e.g., a sword worth $1000), that value must be deducted from their liquid share of the gold pot. If the item's value exceeds their share, they incur a Debt to the party. This calculator automates these ledger balances, incorporates role-based weighted shares (e.g., Main Tank ×2), and applies Guild Taxes before distribution.
Formulas
The core algorithm balances the Total Equity of the raid (Cash + Asset Value) against the Total Shares generated by player weights.
Net Gold = Gtotal × (1 − Tax%)
Total Equity = Net Gold + n∑j=1 Vitemj
Share Value = Total Equitym∑i=1 Wplayeri
Payouti = (Share Value × Wi) − Vitems_taken_by_i
Where G is Gold, W is Weight (Share count), and V is Value. A negative Payout indicates the player owes gold to the pot.
