This tool bridges the semantic gap, translating natural English language color names into precise Hex, RGB, and HSL coordinates.

Unlike basic converters that only support the standard 140 CSS keywords, this engine utilizes an extended dictionary including Crayola, Pantone-equivalents, and descriptive common names. It employs a Levenshtein Distance algorithm to perform fuzzy matching, correcting typos and suggesting nearest neighbors in the semantic color space.

Converting a Hexadecimal color code to RGB involves parsing base-16 integers into base-10. The Hex code represents three 8-bit bytes.

We use the Levenshtein Distance algorithm, which measures the number of single-character edits (insertions, deletions, or substitutions) required to change your input into a known color name. This allows the tool to understand "fusia" as "Fuchsia".

Hex and RGB are additive color models designed for screens (emitted light). Print uses CMYK (subtractive ink). While you can mathematically convert them, colors like "Neon Green" often cannot be perfectly reproduced in print due to gamut limitations.

The tool outputs standard 6-digit Hex codes (e.g., #FF5733). This is the industry standard for HTML, CSS, and most design software. We do not output the alpha channel (transparency) unless specified.
