Breaking Bad Random Quote Generator
Generate random quotes from Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul characters. 80+ iconic quotes from Walter White, Jesse Pinkman, Saul Goodman and more.
About
The Breaking Bad universe contains some of the most precisely written dialogue in television history. A misquoted line or fuzzy recollection strips away the craft that made these characters resonate. This generator draws from a curated set of 80+ verified quotes spanning all 5 seasons of Breaking Bad and 6 seasons of Better Call Saul. Each quote is attributed to its canonical speaker. The selection algorithm uses a Fisher-Yates shuffle variant to prevent consecutive repeats across a session. Quotes can be saved to a personal favorites list stored in your browser via LocalStorage.
Note: this tool operates entirely offline with an embedded dataset. The original Breaking Bad API (breakingbadapi.com) is no longer maintained. This generator does not depend on any external service. Quote accuracy is based on final aired episodes. Minor transcription variations may exist for lines delivered across multiple takes.
Formulas
The quote selection uses a modified Fisher-Yates shuffle to guarantee uniform distribution without immediate repeats. Given a pool of n quotes, the algorithm maintains a history buffer of size h.
If the selected index i exists in the history buffer, the algorithm increments modulo n until a non-repeated index is found:
Where H is the history set of recently shown quote indices, capped at min(20, n − 1) entries to ensure a fresh quote is always available. n = total number of quotes in the database. This guarantees the user sees at least 20 unique quotes before any repetition occurs.
